The U.S. Trade and Development Agency will host the Civil Nuclear Energy Workshop: Partnering for Implementation as a platform to promote the safe and efficient deployment of nuclear energy technologies and showcase U.S. solutions that could support the region’s clean energy and energy security goals. The workshop is being organized by USTDA, in cooperation with Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
This event will be held in-person in Knoxville, TN on October 8-9, 2024 at the Knoxville Convention Center.
Attendance for the workshop is by invitation only.
This two-day workshop will include government experts from more than 20 European and Eurasian countries, U.S. government officials, and industry representatives who will discuss recent U.S., European, and Eurasian initiatives to promote the advancement of civil nuclear energy technologies. The slate of distinguished speakers will cover topics including reactor deployment lessons learned, nuclear solutions for industrial applications, financing, development trends, and other issues impacting project development and delivery. The workshop will also incorporate breakout sessions and one-on-one meetings for direct engagement with key nuclear industry and government officials. Delegates will include regulators, energy officials, and utilities operators from Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Balkans, and the Caucasus.
Countries throughout the Europe and Eurasia region are taking steps to meet their clean energy objectives and ensure energy security through diversified energy mixes. Within this context, many countries throughout the region are seeking to integrate civil nuclear energy resources, either through the expansion of existing civil nuclear energy programs or the introduction of civil nuclear energy technology.
